pre-bikram? I get dizzy alot in class, and I tried coconut and vitamin water (separately) but both made me wanna hurl. Do you guys do anyhting before yoga to ensure an awesome class? And do you guys think morning classes are harder, or evening ones?
hope everyone is having a beautiful day!
p.s. How many out there go to funky door in berkeley? we should have a meet up :)

Re: so we've covered post-bikram, what about...
Thu, October 11, 2007 - 9:45 PMI drink the salt and lemon combo about three hours before too. That's just something I do everyday and I really do think it makes a difference when I miss it.
If I'm feeling poopy I do drink something with caffeine. Food wise I have a morning protein drink but no solids - got a sensitive tummy.

Thu, December 13, 2007 - 5:24 AMTell me more about the salt and lemon concoction please! I just went back to Bikram classes last night and was pretty worse for the wear--nauseous and lightheaded---- I know I didnt hydrate enough prior to.

Re: so we've covered post-bikram, what about...
Thu, October 11, 2007 - 10:35 PMI'm Funky Door Berkeley as well! I'm usually there for 2:30 classes, occasionally 4:30 ones. I also do worktrade there on Thursday afternoons.
Pre-Bikram.... drinking enough water several hours before, and NOT having a full stomach, are the two best things I've found.
It makes SUCH a difference to be hydrated, I'm finding out more and more.
I tried the water/lemon/salt thing today before class, and I had an amazing class (Despite having already been at the studio for 4 hours doing worktrade folding hot laundry and scrubbing bathrooms!). But, I also drank lots of water today anyway, so..... who knows?
Morning classes are definitely harder, but then again I'm NOT a morning person. In the morning if I take a class, I feel much less flexible and it's way harder. I enjoy going to class after having been awake, hydrated, walked about, my body sort of loosened up by going about my day for a while. -

Sun, October 14, 2007 - 10:49 AMI'll really have to try the lemon and salt water then. I'm hearing nothing but good reviews of it!
I think going to a later class might also help. I've been trying to go to 9:30 mostly, because morning classes give me energy for the day (and then it's also out of the way), but I've noticed that afternoon classes are a bit easier on my body. Maybe if I wake up more than a half hour before my class I wouldn't be as out of it either!
yay funky door ! we should all do a class together. tribe overtaking :) hope yer all enjoying the weekend!
