I'm wondering what everyone does, besides drinking a ton of water.
If I JUST drink water, I find that it just goes right through me, and I'm worried that I'm just washing out vitamins/minerals, etc.
I'm pondering having a coconut water after class, but it can get expensive!
I'm not really into Gatorade, as I don't need all the sugar and crap. Same goes with most of the other "sports" drinks.
Any suggestions?

Tue, October 9, 2007 - 10:12 PMI have the same problem with water just going straight throught me - unless, I add some carbs in, something like bread, not fruit which just seems to make it worse. Bread, oatmeal (I eat it raw), a decent type of cracker, rice, noodles. Something along those lines.
I know a lot of people are staying away from carbs but for me, this doesn't work. I just try to make it quality carbs ;~).

Tue, October 9, 2007 - 11:30 PMPut a quarter or half of a lemon in your water bottle with a pinch of sea salt, preferably pink or red sea salt. I drink this during and after class. It is the best natural electrolyte replacement I know of. Tastes good, too.

Wed, June 4, 2008 - 6:13 AMI thought that lemon was a diuretic...In other words, it elevates the rate of urination. Prior to responding, I did a few web searches, and got results back that confirm this to me..So how would it help solve the problem of the water going straight through you? I do see how the salt would.

Fri, July 18, 2008 - 11:13 AMI recommend hydrating before class. Drink lots of water during the day before class. Or, try Emergen-C. Add a packet or two to your water during class. I just love to drink lots of juice after class but I find if I drink anything with sugar during class it makes me nausiated. -

Fri, July 18, 2008 - 3:16 PMDuring class sometimes I use emergen-c . Not often cause I usually don't need it. One of my teachers taught me that it works best if you take it dry a little at a time and then just sip water as you need it. After class a coconut water is the best for me. It really is amazing how it replenishes me instantly.
