Re: head rushes
Mon, September 24, 2007 - 9:50 PMby head rush do you mean those waves of dizzy, eyes kind of go out?
You might be like me and need a little carbohydrate to keep hydrated, for me, otherwise the water just keeps running right through me. -

Re: head rushes
Tue, September 25, 2007 - 5:44 PMI pound an Emergen-C before class, and then drink water throughout, but I haven't tried coconut water. I have a Zico in my fridge. It sounds really good, actually... but when I'm in class, I don't fee like I can stomach much.
I've found that the Emergen-C and then ice throughout helps.
It's all in phases, too... and varies class to class. Some teachers are soooooo intense, and others push me without making me feel insane.
But that's at Yoga Loka here in Sac.
So, head rushes... hmm. Electrolytes are good, in any case.
:)
I love Bikram. It's saving my knees and my neck.

Re: head rushes
Tue, September 25, 2007 - 9:04 PMTry a quarter of a lemon and a pinch of sea salt in your water bottle. That's the best source of electrolytes. Coconut water is also very good. I used to use Emergen-C until I learned about the lemon and sea salt. Now I only use Emergen-C in... emergencies.
Don't worry about the head rushes though. It's natural when you're moving a lot of energy through your system. The more often you practice, the less you'll experience them. Good luck with the 30 day challenge. It'll take you to another level..

Re: head rushes
Fri, March 14, 2008 - 1:51 PMour teachers remind us to sqweeze our butt and contract the thighs to bring the blood to the head and ... breathe. seems to work for me in class. and recently, i found that if my arms aren't fully engaged i get crazy visuals.
