Done a Double?

I've been wondering lately how peole manage to do a double. I've tried it but the second class turns out to be a big sweat with me on the mat. How do you do it? How do you fuel yourself up for that?

Thoughts appreciated!

i would only recommend it if you finish the first one + feel really good after...good as in, rejuventated, not tired.
but i also like doing one early in the morning, and one later in afternoon or nite of same day...and obviously, dont try to have them both be incredibly great--go a bit easier on the 2nd class so that you can see where your body's at...you will be so much more flexible for the 2nd one though!
    ;-)

I agree totally. a class early at 6 or 7am, followed by a class in the late evening. Awesome. I've done that number of times in the last month with great success, but what I've noticed being different is the humidity of the studio itself. After 1 full day of classes and all those sweating bodies there's so much more moisture in the room, and with the heat, and then usually a full class of nearly 50 peeps.... it gets for quite the extensive workout. I've found it a bit taxing in the evening. But of course it varies.

dry heat? what's that? i live in S. FL and i've only done classes there. LOL i bet dry heat would be a completely different experience. what is the % of humidity in your studios? i think ours is ususally at about 50% and it IS pretty difficult to breathe sometimes. not b/c i'm winded but more b/c the air is heavy and seems like there isn't any oxygen in it (not true, but it feels that way).

    Oh yeah,

    double trouble.
trick is, don't kill yourself in the first class - and remember, the 2nd class is infinitely easier. Go into the zone, drop out of your mind and into your body. It gets easier. plus, putting emergenc C in your water helps a lot - oh, and freeze your water, it'll melt during class and a cool drink'll put the wind back in your sails.

    Om shanti,

I just did my first double last Saturday (7 & 9am classes). I have been going to Bikram yoga every day for a month, minus two days that I spent out of town. The effect was astounding. I was vibrating with energy when I got done. I went out with a couple of girlfriends afterward for lunch and buzzed around. That night, however, my bum was really sore and I kept falling asleep. By Sunday's afternoon class, however, I was doing really well.

I highly recommend it, but I would caution you to work up to it by doing daily's first. I don't think I would've done quite as well when I was only doing 3-4 classes per week.
